| The Miniature
Mint Box Battery/Filter Module (MM-MBM) is a self- contained
power/filter unit capable of providing a microphone(s)
with optimum power for increased dynamic range and superior
overall performance. This battery module provides control
of seven bass frequencies with independent switches
for each channel. These bass roll-off filters allow
you to filter various degrees of bass content from the
sound to be recorded: From no bass reduction at all,
to a high degree of bass reduction. This unit is hand
made with top quality components to ensure long life
and excellent recordings!
Customized for greater convenience, the 7-position bass
roll-off feature is easily accessible by simply lifting
the lid on the box. Because they're inside the box,
you don't have to worry about accidentally making any
unwanted changes while the unit is sitting in your pocket
or bag.
Many MDs, DATs and Camcorders available on the market
today provide a small power source from the microphone
input (also known as plug-in power). This is enough
voltage to power the microphone(s), but not enough to
let them realize their full dynamic range. This battery
module provides an optimum 9 volts D.C., which will
enable your microphone(s) to handle much higher (SPL)
sound pressure levels without distortion!
Most built in pre-amps on portable MD recorders are
rather noisy and won't give you the real crisp sound
you want for your recordings. The line input has less
noise than most microphone inputs, since it bypasses
the mic pre-amp stage. The line input is capable of
handling a much higher signal level than the mic inputs,
and will not result in “brick- walling”,
which will happen when the signal fed into a mic input
is so high that it causes distortion regardless of the
level settings.
Our Battery module can be used in conjunction with either
your "mic or line" inputs. For soft to moderately
loud recordings use your mic input! For moderate to
very loud sounds use your line input! The module utilizes
3 3-volt lithium wafer batteries cascaded together (included)
which will last approximately 300 hours.
Constructed of sturdy metal with hinged lid, measures
2 3/8" x 1 5/8" x 3/4" !!!
NOTE: Battery modules will not increase the output of
the microphone(s) plugged into it . That is the job
of a microphone preamplifier!!!! |
